Arizona Forest Action Plan
The Arizona Department of Forestry and Fire Management worked closely with partner organizations and stakeholder groups to develop the 2010 Arizona Forest Resource and Assessment. The assessment and strategy document addresses national private forest conservation priorities; is a useful tool to a wide range of individuals, agencies and organizations; and provides the basis of future work in Arizona to address our forest resource issues.

Arizona Healthy Forest Initative
The purpose of DFFM's Healthy Forest Initiative (HFI) is to reduce the risk of wildfire, increase public safety, protect critical infrastructure, and improve forest health and watershed conditions in the Wildland Urban Interface and open spaces throughout Arizona. These spaces include State, Federal, Tribal, county, municipal, and private land. The initiative is implemented by DFFM foresters and fire managers, professional forestry contractors, inmate forestry crews, and external partners.

Arizona: Don't Move Firewood
Partnering with Don’t Move Firewood, the Arizona Department of Forestry and Fire Management is committed to protecting Arizona’s forests, wildlands, and urban areas from invasive and non-native species. Insects such as the emerald ash borer, spongy moth, spotted lanternfly, and Asian longhorned beetle could become serious threats to native and ornamental plants once established in the state. Use caution when transporting material into the state, source your firewood from local vendors and, when fire restrictions allow, burn it near where you buy it. Don’t move firewood!
