Public Records

​Public Records Request Policy 

​The Department of Forestry and Fire Management requires a public records request form be filled out for all applicable requests. As required by ARS Title 39, Ch. 1, Part 2, DFFM is required to disclose public records in a reasonable amount of time after a request  for disclosure has been made and documented on the agency form.

 

However, DFFM may deny a request to disclose all or part of a public record when the material requested contains information that is protected from disclosure by federal or state statute. Please note: documents and materials destroyed pursuant to the agency's retention schedule are not public records subject to disclosure. 

 

How to Submit

 

Beginning February 5, 2025 DFFM has two Public Records Requests portals: 

 

Agency Public Records Requests including media requests must be submitted via the main agency online portal. 

 

All Office of the State Fire Marshal Public Reqords Requests must be submitted through the OSFM online portal.

*** For Office of the State Fire Marshal record requests regarding private structure investigation reports, please contact that local jurisdiction *** Example: For a report at 123 Maple Street, Phoenix, Arizona, please contact the Phoenix Fire Department

 

Please follow the instructions in the portal prior to submitting.
